The app directory

List your app in the Hubs app directory: what a listing needs, how review works and what apps must never do.

The app directory is where people find bots and hosted apps for the hubs and organizations they run. A listing is a bot application from the developer portal, and adding an app is the normal install with the same checks.

Make a listing

  1. Open your application's Directory tab in the developer portal.
  2. Pick an address (up to 40 characters), a short line (up to 90) and a description (up to 4,000), a category and where it works: hubs, organizations or both.
  3. Add up to 5 screenshots of the real app (PNG, JPEG or WebP, 1 MB each).
  4. Submit it for review.
CategoryFor
ModerationKeep things kind: filters, logs and helpers for your mods.
GamesTrivia, dice, word games and quick rounds with friends.
MusicSong picks, listening parties and things to talk about.
UtilitiesReminders, polls, timers and the small useful things.
Hub Pack add-onsExtras made to sit beside a Hub Pack you already use.
Community and eventsWelcomes, events, roles and getting people talking.
ProductivityStand-ups, check-ins and work that moves along.
Fun and socialSilly, warm and a little bit extra.

Review

  • Hubs staff approve a listing, ask for changes or decline it, with a note you see in the portal.
  • Approving takes a snapshot: the name, text, screenshots and the scopes and permissions the app asks for at that moment. The directory shows only that snapshot, and an install that would grant something different is refused until the change is reviewed.
  • Editing an approved listing makes a new draft; the approved version stays live until the edit is approved.
  • Staff can pull a listing at any time with a reason. Nobody new can add a pulled app; hubs that have it keep it unless the application is switched off.

What an app can never do

People see this list before they add any app:

  • Read direct messages or group chats
  • Open channels its role cannot open
  • Change hub settings, roles or members
  • Sign in as a person or see passwords
  • Charge you anything

The listing policy

Read the full app listing policy before you submit. In short: say plainly what the app does, show the real app, ask only for the scopes you use, never collect passwords, payment details or private messages, and never use another company's name or look or pretend to be Hubs. Every app in the directory is free.

Ratings and reports

Only people who added your app can rate it, from 1 to 5 stars with an optional review of up to 600 characters. Anyone signed in can report an app or a review. Developers cannot hide reviews; staff handle reports.
