Join a voice room
Hop in, mute, pick your microphone, and keep talking while you move around Hubs.
Voice rooms are always open. Drop in, talk, and leave when you are done.
- Open a voice room from the channel list.
- Choose Join room. Your browser may ask to use your microphone the first time.
- Talk. Your microphone starts on in open rooms.
- Choose Leave voice room when you are done.
Mute and listen
Use Mute microphone to stop others hearing you. To stop hearing the room, open Room options and choose Mute the room for me. Ctrl Shift M (Cmd Shift M on a Mac) mutes you from anywhere in Hubs.
Pick your microphone and speakers
Open Room options, then Audio and camera settings, and choose your Microphone and Audio output. Hubs cleans up echo and background noise for you.
Keep talking while you move around
Your call stays with you as you open other channels and hubs. It shrinks into a small window you can hide, dock beside a conversation, or pop out on its own.
Watch and talk
When a video plays in your room, the chat sits beside it. Press C for cinema, where the video fills the room, or F for full screen, and keep talking. See Watch together and music.
Soundboard, music and more
Choose Activities in the call controls. From anywhere else in Hubs, tap the arrow on your call in the top bar (on a phone, it opens from the bottom). You will find:
- Soundboard: tap a sound and everyone in the call hears it. Then wait a few seconds before the next one.
- Watch together: paste a video link and everyone watches in sync.
- Music: see what is playing, add a song, and vote to skip.
- Games, Chat, Captions, Invite to this room and Device settings.
You only see what your hub has on. Hub owners and admins also see the rest, dimmed, with Turn on.
