Create your account
One screen: a display name, your email and a password. Your handle is made for you.
You need an account to chat, join calls and run a hub. Reading the public site, this Help Center and the status page needs no account.
Make your account
- Go to the sign-up page, or choose Get started at the top of any public page.
- Type a Display name. This is the name people see, and you can change it later.
- Your handle appears under it, made from your name (like @robin_vale). It is how people find you. To pick your own, choose Edit: 3 to 24 letters, numbers or underscores.
- Type your Email and choose a Password of at least 10 characters. The hint under the password says how strong it is.
- Answer How old are you. You need to be 13 or older to use Hubs.
- Tick the box to agree to the terms and the privacy policy, then choose Create your account. That's the only screen.
Hubs runs a short automatic check while you sign up, so there is no puzzle to solve. If it says there were too many attempts from your connection, wait a few minutes and try again.
Confirm your email
- Right after you create your account, I send a 6-digit code to your email. Type or paste it, and your email is confirmed. The code works once, for 10 minutes.
- No email yet? Wait 30 seconds and choose Resend code, and check your spam folder. Typed it wrong? Choose Change email.
You can choose Verify later and go straight in. Until you confirm, you can't share links to other sites, start a conversation with someone who isn't your friend (replying to people who write to you works), or reset your password by email. A small banner and Security & safety, then Recovery & verification in Settings stay until it is done, and I send one reminder email a day later.
Next I ask you to Pick your look: light, dark or match your device. You can skip it and change it any time.
