Set up roles and permissions
Give people roles, decide who sees each channel, and share the work of running a hub.
Every hub has an owner, admins and members. Custom roles let you go further, like Moderator, Artist or Raid Lead.
Admins and members
The owner can make someone an Administrator or turn them back into a Member from the people list. Admins can help run almost everything.
Custom roles
- Open Manage, then People, then Custom roles.
- Choose Add role, name it, and give it a color and an icon.
- Turn on Show on member names if you want the role to show in chat.
- Turn on Members can choose this role themselves for roles people pick, like a game they play.
- Choose Save structure.
On the Permissions tab, you can decide for each channel who can see it, who can send messages, and who can join voice: everyone, chosen roles, or staff only.
On Tool permissions, you can let a role help run parts of the hub, such as channels, events, the Board or support, without making them an admin.
Members pick the roles you allow from You in this hub, with Choose roles.
