Download or delete your data
Get a copy of your data, or close your account for good.
Your data is yours. You can take a copy or close your account.
Download your data
- Open Account settings, then Privacy, then Account data.
- Under Export your account data, enter your password (and your two-step code if you use one).
- Choose Download my data.
You get a file with your own messages, uploads and settings. Other people's messages are not included. The page lists what is in it.
Delete your account
- In the same place, find Permanently delete your account.
- Type your handle and the words DELETE MY ACCOUNT, then your password.
- Choose Permanently delete my account.
Deleting is immediate and cannot be undone. Your name changes to Deleted account. Messages you sent to others can stay, and so do safety and payment records. Backups clear on their own schedule.
