Reserved names and the Official badge
Why some names are taken, and how a hub, an organization or a person asks for the badge.
Some names are reserved, so nobody can pretend to be Hubs or a brand. Words like admin, staff, support and official, and look-alike spellings, cannot be used in handles or hub names. Check marks and the word verified are not allowed in any name.
The Official badge
The badge shows that Hubs checked a hub, an organization or a person is who they say. Only Hubs gives it.
- Open Account settings, then Profile, then Official badge.
- Organizations prove a website they own, with a DNS record or a verified email at that domain.
- Hubs connect a verified organization or an official link. People are reviewed by the Hubs team.
