Choose your notifications
Pick what each channel tells you about, set quiet hours, and get a nudge when you are away.
You decide how much Hubs tells you, channel by channel.
For one channel
- Open the channel's details from its header.
- Open the Notifications tab.
- Under Notify me about, pick Every new message, Mentions and replies or Nothing in this channel.
Quiet hours and previews
Open Account settings, then Notifications, then Quiet hours. The settings button in Activity opens it too. You can set Quiet hours (10 PM to 8 AM to start), hide message previews, and mute a whole community.
I wanted quiet hours that match a real week, so you can pick the days. Tap the day chips to choose which days are quiet, for example Mon to Fri, and leave the weekend off. Need a later night on Fridays? Turn on Different times per day and give each day its own window. A line under the chips reads it back, like "Quiet on weekdays from 10 PM to 7 AM."
A window that runs past midnight belongs to the day it starts, so Friday 10 PM to 7 AM covers Saturday morning too. Hubs uses the time zone you set there. During quiet hours I hold pop-ups, pushes and paging emails. Everything still lands in Activity.
Notifications on your computer
- Open Account settings, then Notifications.
- Choose Enable system notifications and allow them when your browser or computer asks.
This is set per device and per account. You will not get a pop-up while you are looking at Hubs. In the desktop app, closing the window keeps Hubs running in the tray or Dock, so notes keep coming.
